We presented an earlier, 60-minute version of The Driftwood Bridge at our wedding on September 15, 2018. For that performance, we called our show "Gaybaret," both because we set up the theatre as a cabaret and because we saw it as a cabaret-like prelude to the wedding ceremony itself.
Gaybaret
Wedding Ceremony
Officiated by the Reverend Gail Crouch
We conceived our performance and wedding ceremony to be two parts of a larger ritual and celebration, first building the bridge in the show and then getting married on it in the ceremony.
As we've further developed The Driftwood Bridge, we've incorporated elements of the ceremony into the performance, to make the show itself a ritual and celebration of its own.
